Application of Cathodic Protection

Abstract

Cathodic protection should be applied to metal structures where they are in contact with corrosive soils or water, whenever economically justified. Materials other than steel or iron should be considered as separate cases. The metal structures should be coated whenever practical for maximum cathodic protection efficiency. This chapter provides the details of various applications of cathodic protection systems in the oil and gas industries.
