The following is a brief introduction to the terms and acronyms that you can see throughout the network security field. Most of the acronyms that are associated with security can be associated to an encryption algorithm or a technology. The following are important security terms and acronyms:
Authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA, or Triple A)— AAA provides a key part of enforcing your security policy by providing centralized access control and accounting in addition to router and switch access management.
