Section 3.0: ISDN Configuration

3.1. Basic ISDN

  1. Configure ISDN on R3 and R6 using network 167.78.86.12/30. See Example 4-20.

  2. Configure the ISDN network in OSPF Area2 with MD5 authentication. By advertising the ISDN network in Area 2, R3 should converge with OSPF, and all routes will be learned via OSPF, including the default route.

  3. Do not configure the dial-string on the R6 dialer map statement. See Example 4-20.

  4. Configure the dial backup scenario using the backup interface command on the VLAN-5 Ethernet interface on R3. See Example 4-20.

  5. Configure the backup delay command to bring up the link after 10 seconds of the VLAN-5 link on R3 going down, and tear down after 1 minute of the VLAN-5 link coming up. See Example 4-20.
