Load Balancing with EIGRP

You might know that by default, EIGRP can load-balance up to 4 equal-cost links. But did you remember that we can configure EIGRP to load-balance across up to 16 equal-/unequal-cost links to a remote network? Well, we can, so let’s take a look at the load balancing that our Corp and R1 routers have running. First, let’s take a look at the R1 routing table and make sure that EIGRP has already found both links between the routers:

R1#sh ip route

     10.0.0.0/24 is subnetted, 5 subnets

D       10.1.1.0 [90/27769856] via 10.1.3.1, 00:21:30, Serial0/0/1

                 [90/27769856] via 10.1.2.1, 00:21:30, Serial0/0/0

C       10.1.2.0 is directly connected, Serial0/0/0

C       10.1.3.0 is directly connected, Serial0/0/1 ...
