FabricPath Frame Format
When an Ethernet frame enters the FabricPath network, the switch encapsulates the frame with a 16-byte FabricPath header. This header includes a 48-bit outer MAC destination address (ODA), a 48-bit outer MAC source address (OSA), and a 32-bit FabricPath tag. The ODA and SDA contain a 12-bit unique identifier called SwitchID that is used to forward packets within the FabricPath network.
