Call Home and Smart Call Home
Basically, the Cisco Call Home feature provides e-mail–based notification of system events. It is important that you understand that a difference exists between Cisco UCS Call Home (CH) and Smart Call Home (SCH) features.
The primary differences are that Cisco TAC cannot maintain an inventory; faults/alerts are not sent to Cisco TAC, no auto-case creation occurs, and there is no access to the Cisco Smart Call Home portal with CH. SCH actually leverages the CH feature and enables proactive diagnostics and sends real-time e-mail alerts.
