- AAA
Authentication, authorization, and accounting, the service associated with determining who is accessing a resource, what rights they have, and how long they have accessed it.
- ACL
Access control list, a list to filter traffic based on protocol, layer 3 address, and so on. An ACL can also be used to identify traffic that matches some other feature.
- AES
The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is the current U.S. government encryption standard.
- authentication
A way of validating the identity of someone attempting to access a resource.
- authorization
The granting of rights to a user based on their identity.
- accounting
The process of tracking usage of network resources.
