Every router that connects to a given OSPF area should learn the exact same topology data. Each router stores the data, composed of individual link-state advertisements (LSA), in its own copy of the link-state database (LSDB). Then, the router applies the Shortest Path First (SPF) algorithm to the LSDB to determine the best (lowest-cost) route for each reachable subnet (prefix/length).
