Wireless networks send data over the air with radio frequency (RF) energy; this is why wireless has security requirements that differ from any other medium. Cisco addresses this with a multilayered security approach built in to their wireless products: Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points protocol (CAPWAP) access points (APs), controllers, and Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS).
