Chapter 8. Advanced Tasks with CD/DVD Inspector

This section describes some advanced uses of CD/DVD Inspector which may be required in some cases.

Using Hash Matching and MD5 Hashes

CD/DVD Inspector can compute MD5 hash values for either selected files or all files in a session by selecting any file, folder, or session and selecting the menu item “Calculate MD5 Hash” in the File menu. This will populate the MD5 Hash value column in the file Details display.

CD/DVD Inspector has the capability of loading hash sets and using them to match against files on the media being examined. If you have a set of known files being checked for, this can make the process significantly faster and more productive.
