Professional competence
Professional competence is of the utmost importance in health and safety. However the architectural design community is besieged with pre-qualification questionnaires assessing competence from clients and organisations that do not have a comprehensive grasp of the issues outlined in this guide. This imposes an unacceptable burden on the designers and creates an illusion of safety that the HSE and professions are determined to eradicate.
