Installing cluster stack software on CentOS version 7 is preferable. The cluster stack software on CentOS 7 uses more recent packages with longer life compared to the cluster stack on CentOS version 6, and also provides more features and flexibility. The official Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 cluster suite is the cluster messaging layer provided by Corosync 2.x, and the cluster resource manager layer provided by Pacemaker. CentOS version 7 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 provide the same cluster stack software.
