Ceph gives us options to choose the erasure code plugin while creating the erasure code profile. One can create multiple erasure code profiles with different plugins each time. Choosing the right profile is important because it cannot be modified after the pool is created. In order to change a profile, a new pool with a different profile needs to be created, and all objects from the previous pool moved to the new pool.
