Planning the Enterprise Architecture
Planning is critical for achieving a useful enterprise architecture (EA). Key to remember is that EA is a decision support tool, not an end unto itself. To achieve success, you need to have a good understanding of the decisions stakeholders make and the data needed to support this decision-making.
There are two parts to architecture planning: identifying the scope of the architecture work, and planning for the project or projects to do this work. This chapter focuses on aspects of planning the architecture work, specifically scoping the architecture work.
