Systems Viewpoint

The Systems Viewpoint serves the interests of people involved with the planning, design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of automated systems. Automated information systems are a subset of automated systems in general. The DoDAF generalizes information as a resource, and the Systems Viewpoint is therefore applicable to all systems, resource processing, and human and automated performers in the general case. Earlier versions of the DoDAF were restricted to information processing systems that were directed toward supporting C4ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance).
