CHAPTER   22

TOGAF: The Open Group Architecture Framework

In this chapter, we cover a basic overview of the concepts involved in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and provide additional references to The Open Group documents as well as books dedicated specifically to TOGAF. The Open Group itself is a vendor- and technology-neutral industry consortium, with more than 500 member organizations. Though The Open Group is vendor-neutral, many of its members are vendors and provide information on their products so they can be integrated into TOGAF as reusable solution building blocks. TOGAF is only one of the products and standards developed and maintained by The Open Group. The Open Group is also the certifying authority for TOGAF.
