Marina Barnard is a Research Fellow at the Public Health Research Unit, University of Glasgow. Her interests lie somewhere between sociology and anthropology. For the past six years she has researched the links between injecting drug use, prostitution and HIV/AIDS. She is co-author with Neil McKeganey of AIDS, Drugs and Sexual Risk: Lives in the Balance, Open University Press, 1992. More recently she has begun to look at young people’s experimentation with drugs and the various routes into drug use.
