Kindness as strategy
Just one other thing. Activists are probably the opposite of managers, in that (a) activism is about messy human progress and (b) activists are less likely to be cranking up the hours to make more money. They’ll be kinder, perhaps.
I think there has been an oversupply of management thinking, almost into machine thinking territory in some places. Being organised and responsible is great. But work with values and passion nourishes us at a deeper level. So mix it up, rather than insisting on more action on the deliverables. Moving forward, let’s baseline and come on guys, regroup. Er. No. Thanks anyway.
