Lewin's Model for Understanding the Change Process
According to the social psychologist Kurt Lewin (1999), organizational stability is maintained when there is a balance of two sets of forces acting upon the organization. The driving forces are those forces pushing on the organization to move in a new direction. The restraining forces are those forces hindering this movement or change.
