The Five-Step Change Model
“I think we need some help,” says Jade.
Jade, Dan, and James are meeting in Dan’s office, all sitting around the small conference table Dan uses as a desk. Dan looks puzzled, and James nods.
Jade continues: “I’ve been thinking a lot about the changes we need to make, Dad, and about how much I freaked everybody out at that senior staff meeting a couple of months ago.”
James grins, and Dan reaches a hand toward Jade. “It wasn’t that bad, mija . . . ”
“No, Dad, it was pretty bad. I didn’t think about how what I was saying would affect everybody, and I didn’t do anything to prepare them.” Dan shrugs, acknowledging the misstep.
