The World Plan of Action for the Decade for Women

Taking note of the differences in the legal, economic, social, political and cultural status of women and men and recognising that in many countries women form a large part of the agricultural work force, that they constitute a substantial part of the country’s economic resource in production, processing and marketing of food and of the neglect of women in the development process the plan provides guidelines for national action to achieve equality, peace and development, the goals set by the International Women’s Year. The plan is addressed primarily to the national governments and all non—governmental organizations and political groups.
