National Days of the World for 2014
(Compiled from publications of the U.S. Department of State, the United Nations and from information received from the countries listed.)
Most nations set aside one or more days each year as national public holidays, often recognizing the anniversary of the attainment of independence or the birthday of the country’s ruler. Below, the national days are listed alphabetically. It should be noted that in some countries the Gregorian Calendar date of observance varies from year to year. See the Index and the main chronology for further details of observance and for numerous holidays in addition to the national days listed here.
