Overview
Nuendo 2.0, introduced in the summer of 2003, is Steinberg’s ‘flagship’ media production system. Nuendo first appeared early in the year 2000 and has since won increasing numbers of devotees. Nuendo was able to support the higher sample rates used for 5.1 surround production for well over a year before Pro Tools HD systems appeared with 96 and 192 kHz support. During this period, a number of the leading producers and engineers working with surround sound, particularly in the USA, started using Nuendo – a lucky break that has definitely helped Nuendo to win wider acceptance.
