Presentations have come a long way in the past 40 years. While slide and overhead projectors were technological marvels years ago, today, they have been replaced with interactive presentations involving text, images, audio, and video. When Microsoft introduced PowerPoint in 1987, it changed presentations forever. Today, it has become so entrenched in business and education that the name is almost used interchangeably to mean presentation, the way people refer to tissues as Kleenex and lip balm as ChapStick. But the market penetration of PowerPoint didn’t keep Google from creating a presentation software that could rival it.
