Challenges for the CIO
Whether the title is chief information officer (CIO), chief technology officer (CTO), vice president or director of information systems (or vice president of “anything technical”), the job is vital and difficult.[2] CIOs deal with sophisticated technical issues such as rapidly changing software packages, platforms, and standards. They face the challenge of leading and earning the respect of a diverse technical staff. They oversee the operations of systems on which business, revenues, and profits are dependent and, in some cases, impossible to achieve without.
