Evolutionary Phases of Internet Readiness
The CIO needs to recognize that the enterprise and the individual applications and initiatives within the enterprise will go through discrete phases depending on the expectations of the business. Before entering the discussion of the evolutionary phases, let's confirm we understand how the Internet is different from the networks with which most CIOs are familiar (Table 6.1).
