At this point in this section, you have reviewed IPv6 addresses, IPv6 subnetting, and how to assign addresses to hosts. The next topic looks at how to assign addresses to routers, enable IPv6 routing, and configure static IPv6 routes.
Configuring IPv6 Routing and Addresses on Routers
To enable IPv6 on a router, you have two basic tasks:
Step 1. Enable IPv6 routing using the ipv6 unicast-routing global command.
Step 2. Enable IPv6 on each desired interface, and set the interface IPv6 address and prefix length, using the ipv6 address address/length subcommand in interface configuration mode.
