Chapter 7. Performing Advanced UCS Administration Tasks
This chapter presents the concepts and procedures for backing up and restoring the state and configuration of a UCS. Additionally we examine how the management components can be configured for high availability.
Performing UCS Backups and Restorations
UCSM stores the configuration and state locally on the UCS 6120 or 6140, so they both can easily be backed up or restored. When you back up the UCS, you can choose from two types of backups:
• Full-state backup
• Configuration-only backup (logical, system, all)
Full-State Backup
The full-state backup saves the following data:
• Runtime state (for example, service profiles’ power states, pending management operations, and so on)
