Infrastructure Operations
Introduction
IT operations teams charged with the “care and feeding” of infrastructure face numerous daily maintenance and support challenges. Across their entire infrastructure landscape—in however many data centers, edge locations, and clouds it may reside—they must find a way to monitor for hardware faults, maintain hardware compatibility with an ever-changing list of constraints, stay current on critical security advisories and vendor field notices, collect logs for troubleshooting, track support contract status, and interact with vendor support. These tasks are difficult on an individual scale and can easily consume a team’s limited human resources even in the best-run organizations.
