18.2. The Problems You Face

As described in Chapter 17, "Voice," many different types of traffic are being put onto IP data networks today. Each of these different types of traffic has different requirements for sending it across the network. For example, voice and video traffic are sensitive to delay and packet loss. That sensitivity must be balanced with the bandwidth available on the network. As I go through these issues, I describe what you can do about each of them.
