Maybe we’re all just being greedy. Fifteen years ago most people didn’t even have an e-mail account. Few had ever connected to the Internet. Five years ago everyone you know probably had an e-mail account; in some cases it was the only way you communicated with them. Then came wireless networking, because those e-mails couldn’t wait until the end of the meeting, so we had wireless throughout our workplace and home.
