Before You Connect to the Cisco Router

The command-line nature of the Cisco IOS makes it possible to script configuration checks, and it is far simpler to take the knowledge gleaned from a Cisco router at the command line and transpose it for use on a Web or otherwise graphically based configuration utility that many other products deploy. One of the major benefits of Cisco routers is that there is a consistent command set across the entire product range.
