Looking Glasses
Looking glasses are portals into a remote router that is not under your control. They are most often available on Web servers in ISP's networks. Looking glasses enable you to submit commands that you would like executed on a router in the remote ISP's network and then receive the output from that command. The looking glass program was first made popular by Digex. They began with access to one of their routers from their http:///nitrous.digex.net Web site. It now includes access to four of their routers. Digex offers the source code to their looking glass on the WWW site mentioned earlier. Theirs is a RSH based looking glass.
