Router Commands
There are two families of commands that will be used to troubleshoot the problems introduced in this chapter. Various branches of the show tree of IOS commands will be used. Also, several branches of the debug tree of privileged user mode IOS commands will be used. The show family of commands displays information about the current status of interfaces and certain aspects of the IOS. The debug family of commands displays information about the interfaces and IOS at the packet level.
show Commands
The show interface command is a very useful command for many purposes. It displays a wide range of useful information on a per interface basis, or all interfaces on the router if no interface is specified on the command line.
