It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 15 Managing and Monitoring the FWSM
You can choose from several options when managing or monitoring the Firewall Services Module (FWSM). Having a good understanding of the capabilities of each solution and how to use them to your best interest will make your job much easier.
Although alternatives to the command-line interface (CLI) exist, and it certainly may be more difficult to use, it is highly recommended to have a good understanding of how to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot the FWSM using the CLI. Because the CLI is the least common denominator, if you get access to the host-chassis, you can still configure the FWSM.
