After you have seen in the previous parts the IPv6 design and the coexistence and integration mechanisms in the IPv6 protocol, Part IV presents the 6bone's architecture, allocation policy, and routing policy. Then it describes the criteria to become an IPv6 ISP on the IPv6 Internet, how production IPv6 address spaces are allocated by regional Internet registries (RIRs) to Tier-1 providers, and how IPv6 addresses are reassigned to customers. Finally, this part discusses industry support and trends for IPv6.
