The activities of operations
The operations department is primarily responsible for supporting the networking and information systems operations of the enterprise. The team members are typically technical and management personnel, often with technical expertise and experience, having hands on the hardware and configuration consoles of the various IT infrastructure systems and services, servers, and client systems.
Operations must implement and maintain the information technology systems to support the needs of the business, and it must do so in a manner that protects the IT resources, reduces risk, and complies with the policies of the enterprise.
