The Goods Movement Strategy

The Goods Movement Strategy project was initiated in 2012 in response to a need for up-to-date information on goods movement patterns and trucking industry needs. The project involved collecting data on truck movement and feedback from relevant stakeholders on their needs and concerns. (A representative example of daily truck trip patterns in Edmonton is shown in Figure 9.1.) The collected input was used to develop a Goods Movement Strategy that appeared before the City Council in Spring 2014 for approval.
