Dr. Marco Adria is Professor Emeritus of Communication at the University of Alberta and founder of the Centre for Public Involvement, a research and development institute operated by the University of Alberta and the City of Edmonton. He is coeditor of Handbook of research in citizen engagement and public participation in the era of new media (IGI Global, 2016). He was a visiting professor in the Department of Business at the TecnolÓgico de Monterrey, Mexico, in 2015 to 2016. His book, Technology and Nationalism (Montreal: McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2010) won the Lewis Mumford Award for Outstanding Scholarship in the Ecology of Technics, awarded by the New York based Media Ecology Association.
