Frameworks have become quite popular. Generally speaking, this is a good thing. There are many frameworks out there that are free, powerful, and useful.

However, frameworks are not architectures—though some try to be.

Most framework authors offer their work for free because they want to be helpful to the community. They want to give back. This is laudable.
