Abstract:
China is rapidly modernising to become the world’s fifth largest pharmaceutical market and an important hub for local and global clinical trials. This chapter reflects on the revolutionary changes in the pharmaceutical and clinical trial industry in China. It emphasises the growing trends of foreign investments by pharmaceutical companies in China, thus indirectly fuelling the growth of the CRO market. Also considered are China’s healthcare delivery system and key parameters that drive the growth of clinical research environments.
