Abstract:
The pharmaceutical industry in Singapore is growing at a fast pace. The industry is heavily supported by the Singapore government as a part of its policy to encourage the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industries in Singapore. This chapter describes the pharmaceutical investments in Singapore and the evolving healthcare system and infrastructure to support quality research. It goes on to discuss the CRO market and key pharmaceutical players undertaking clinical research in Singapore. Finally, it provides an environmental analysis highlighting public–private partnerships and the operational challenges of doing clinical trials in Singapore.
