Introduction
This chapter builds on the lifecycle methodology of closed loop lifecycle planning. During the research conducted when writing this book, I noted that many businesses do not differentiate between the costs to support various technologies. As a result, when cost, service levels, and risk were explored, no common basis existed for a complete analysis.
Charge back and charge-back methodology can play a pivotal role in the overall adoption of technologies, best practices, and of course, user segmentation. If the charge backs are all at the same level for IT (desktops and laptops equal as an example), there is little if any motivation for change.
