Chapter 30. End-User Segments

Introduction

This chapter approaches user segmentation based on the closed loop lifecycle planning definition introduced earlier in this book. User segmentation refers to the alignment of end-user requirements with the optimal suite of access devices. The preceding chapter discussed the technologies installed today, and then addressed where future technologies may be migrating toward from a business perspective.

This chapter looks initially at the actual user segments that exist today. Guidelines and definitions of each user segment are provided and discussed. Variables are provided that may include specifics based on the industry and focus of a company.
