13AI for Cloud and Edge Networking
Artificial intelligence (AI) is appearing more and more as one of the functionalities one can expect from a Cloud. The advantage of this solution is being able to simply add a virtual machine in the Cloud next to the virtual machines of application service, virtual infrastructure service and the digital infrastructure itself. This is the way to accelerate the automation of networks, to optimize the radio of a wireless communication or to diagnose a system failure. In this chapter, we will look at the introduction of AI to optimize the operation of the Edge and Cloud Networking.
Where do we find uses for AI in Edge and Cloud Networking? First, in network management systems, one of the clear goals for the end of this decade is to achieve global automation of all processes that take place in a network. There is also a lot of AI in cybersecurity, which is becoming more and more complex with digitization. Terminal equipment is also full of AI to improve photos, to optimize the use of resources, to manage user access and finally, without being at all exhaustive, to optimize its applications.
