I talk a lot in this book about the types of events that can go wrong right alongside a lot of talk about the technologies used to either prevent these mishaps or deal with them after they’ve happened. This chapter goes into greater detail on the challenges you face in protecting your IT environment, particularly when it includes cloud services. The good news is that, in a shared security model, the part of the model that includes clouds covers considerably less territory than the hazards you have to look out for in a traditional security environment.
