Abstract
This chapter looks at the benefits and requirements for the three main use cases for CMDB System deployments. These are
• Change Impact Management and Change Automation,
• Asset Management and Financial Optimization, and
• Service Impact, Performance, and Capacity Optimization.
Also included are two other use cases, DevOps and security/compliance, which typically draw on technologies and processes reflected in the three areas highlighted above.
