The purpose of Causal Analysis and Resolution (CAR) is to identify causes of selected outcomes and take action to improve process performance.


CAR helps you establish a disciplined approach to analyzing the causes of outcomes, both positive and negative, of your processes. You can analyze defects or defect trends, problems such as schedule overruns or inter-organizational conflicts, as well as positive outcomes that you want to replicate elsewhere.
