Reflecting

What’s the Big Idea?

Unexpectedly, it had been a difficult meeting. I had completed my advance preparation and thought that the work we needed to cover was quite straightforward and uncontentious. Little did I know the ferocious arguments that were about to take place! On my way home, I sat on the train and wondered what had happened. As the chairperson of the meeting, was there anything that I could have done at the time to have improved things? And what about the way forward? Could I do something different next time to enable a better, more constructive, outcome? I jotted down a few notes and resolved to talk it through with another member of the committee.
