The Role of the Manager in Talent Development and Coaching
Most development of talent takes place on the job; as we noted in Chapter 4, on-the-job experience can account for up to 70 percent of an MVP’s development. MVPs’ jobs are therefore ideally structured to ensure that MVPs learn and develop new skills, or their learning takes place naturally on their existing job. Remember, one of the key characteristics of MVPs is that they want to learn and grow. They are also highly marketable and are sought after by recruiters and other companies.
